A Decade of Love

Does your heart ever ache for your children?  I think every mother would have to answer yes.  Tonight Bryce was disappointed in the way he played in his game. One of the boys made a rude comment to him, and he was in tears on the drive home.  10 years old, barely, and beginning that “wonderful” stage of life where approval by peers seems so important (does that ever really go away?). I’m inexperienced at this parenting thing, Bryce is my oldest, and as he goes through something for the first time, it’s the first time for all of us!  I can tell you one thing I know for sure, watching your child hurt is HARD!  I guess we will take it one day at a time, him learning how to grow up, and me learning how to be mama to a boy who's figuring out how to grow up…  And, Bryce, if you ever find yourself reading this, please know that I LOVE YOU for you, just the way God made you… you are an amazing person already.

Snow Day 2010

Here in the Northeast corner of Texas, we don’t really get very much snow, but this year, we did! Believe me, over 4 1/2 inches of snow was a really big deal!  So much fun for the kids and the grown-up kids! 

  We watched the snow fall all day at school, and couldn’t wait to get home and play in it! 

The dogs had never seen snow before, they enjoyed running around in it!

I love this shot of Jayden looking up at one of the snow covered evergreens in our backyard.   Allie was having a great time running around in the snow!   The backyard snowman!         I just loved the way the snow fell onto the branches of the big trees, and then fell off in big heaps.   Down our road. 

The poor Texas cows were probably freezing!

And, this is what I saw out the window after I played outside.. what a view for a Texas girl!  And the best part?  They cancelled school for the next day!
