Symmetry

When I was college, 3 out of the 4 years, I had three roommates, that’s 4 girls in the late teens, early twenties living under the same apartment roof. It was the BEST!  We are / were all alike in many ways, and also different in many ways.  I love those girls, and we keep in touch, and are so important to each other still.
We decorated our apartment with country western decor on the cheap, and I can remember this flower arrangement in a boot that somehow sat up on the wicker stand that held our tv. (Wicker… nice!) Anyhoo, whoever placed it there, put it kinda’ off-center and anytime I would sit down to watch tv, it would drive me crazy, so I would “have to” get up and put it straight.
Today, I taught symmetry to my fifth graders, and somehow it struck me weird as I was straightening and putting away things in my house after work, that I am a very symmetrical decorator.  I wonder what that says about my personality?  Oh, how that is a whole other post blog in itself!  Here are some of the balanced, symmetrical displays I found in my home.

Got this STAR at the local secondhand shop by my house… it’s a candleholder. Cute, huh? 111_2046 Very symmetrical kitchen nook.  Like my upside down lampshade chandelier… that’s a creative solution to breaking your chandelier in an attempt to clean…

I’ve thought about painting that B… but I can’t make up my mind….
