My Blogging Bio

Thanks, Casey, for my first blogging award!

One day my mom asked me if I had checked out my friend, Tammy's blog, and when I did, it gave me the inspiration to start a blog of my own. Why not? Right. Well, initially, I started out writing and posting pictures about my family, thinking this would be a new way to keep in touch with all of our out-of-town relatives who stretch nationally and internationally. And, it is. Shortly, I was hooked. I started to check out people's blogs as they posted them in "About Me" on facebook, and quickly I was addicted to the world of blogging. I immediately became hooked on reading Casey's blog. I kinda' knew Casey growing up in Plano, but now I am totally enjoying a new connection to her as we are both moms of three, living far away from extended families, doing the best we can to make memories for our children. Then, my blog addiction evolved into what bloggers fondly call "blog stalking" as I began to read about other women, especially moms, some I knew in the past, some I don't know. I feel a connection as I read about how they're handling everyday. I have since been inspired to plan my meals and post them, and have found many new ideas on everything from organizing to recipes to everyday coping skills! I am loving the connection I feel to others out there! I love how easy it is to share our favorite websites and ideas! Additionally, I have always found journaling and any kind of writing to be catharthic, so I'm enjoying this new kind of sharing thoughts and ideas. Thanks to all my "bloggy" friends who inspire me with their daily lives. You are amazing women! Thanks for sharing your lives! Thanks, Shannon, whose blog about her daughter, Gracie, is the sweetest thing and consistently reminds me of how sweet and unique the love is for a firstborn child. Shannon and her husband, Kelly, are friends from my former school in Plano. I enjoy reading Kelley's blog. Kelley is a childhood friend who has sweet twins and takes great pictures of them. I like reading about the adventures of a mom with twins. Also, I love Amanda's blog. I've known Amanda since she was in high school, and have always enjoyed her honest and fiery personality. She is a working mom like me, with three kids. She is someone who tells it as it is, which I find very refreshing. Then, there's longtime friend, Jill, who started a blog about her precious son, Cade. He is an angel, and I love to look at the pictures and thoughts from my sweet friend, as being a mommy is so fresh and new to her! Also, I love following Kim, Jenny, and Cissie's blogs, since I miss them and their children so much. We all became mommies around the same time and even though we moved away, I am so glad we have this fun way of keeping in touch. And, last but certainly not least, I can't leave without mentioning Whitney's journal style blog. Whitney is a high school friend who is a destined to be a writer. She doesn't post often, but when she does, I can't wait to see what she has found noteworthy. Her entries are candid and thought provoking!
